About Manx Designs

Manx Designs is a project in progress, i.e. a ‘Work in Progress’, What seems like a lifetime away, and back in the UK, I have had various jobs ranging from ‘IT’ in the areas of Troubleshooting and Network Security which strangely led me into handling the network and infrastructure for a very well know Broadcast TV and Film Graphics Designs Facility, and very soon after I had swapped jobs and was trained up as a Computer Animator using products such as Newtek’s LightWave 3D and Autodesk’s Maya, this carried on until the distances travelled just got way too much and I settled into a old hobby of mine which was theĀ  Airbrushing of Motorcycles and Crash Helmets.

Some time back we decided to move to the Isle of Man to be close to family and although for one of us this has proved great, I have not been able to get things going, mainly due to not being able to get a work permit.

So what of ‘Manx Designs’?

I hope that I could start this up as a company sometime in the future, I would like to get back into Airbrushing, but as a sideline to what I should term is a proper job and a proper income, having not worked for 5 years the prospects of me finding work are fairly slim, but I need work to be able to afford the equipment to start up again, i.e. catch 22.

I was doing a bit of Photography and some Graphic Design, and also working on putting a new show-reel together for the Maya Animations I have been working on, this will include some Z Brush Models as well to make it a bit more interesting.

Time will tell, and hopefully something will come my way soon to get ‘Manx Designs’ up and running properly, problem is it all takes money, something I am a little short on…

In the mean-time, I will use this site to post anything interesting I come across, news and gripes, Info on my hobbies (Amateur Radio and Graphics), and maybe a bit about what I am doing at the mo.

All the best

James

    Hello James,
I put your homepage in my bookmarks, because of the pictorial of the Honda CX650 restoration I found there. The site inspired me to build my own pictorial of a CX500 project (check the url I added to this message). Hope your site gets back online some day, it was really interesting.
    Best wishes.
